Offbeat Dooars : Rongo Village (2N3D)

Introduction

The Dooars region, located in the northern part of West Bengal and stretching into Bhutan, is a beautiful destination known for its lush tea gardens, wildlife sanctuaries, and scenic landscapes. Rongo Village is a beautiful and serene destination located in the Dooars region. Our proposed itinerary for a visit to Rongo and the surrounding areas offers a great mix of nature, culture, and exploration. Here's a detailed breakdown of your 3-day trip:

Best time to visit Dooars

The best time to visit the Dooars largely depends on your preferences for weather, wildlife sightings, and outdoor activities. If you're primarily interested in wildlife safaris and outdoor activities, the post-monsoon and winter months are the best. Here are the different seasons to consider.

Post-Monsoon (September to November) :

This is one of the best times to visit the Dooars. After the monsoon rains, the region is lush and green. The weather is pleasant, and the temperatures are moderate, making it ideal for outdoor activities like jungle safaris, nature walks, and trekking. It's also a good time for birdwatching.

Winter (December to February)

Winter is another excellent time to visit the Dooars. The weather is cool and dry, with daytime temperatures ranging from 7°C to 25°C (45°F to 77°F). The skies are clear, and the humidity is low, making it comfortable for sightseeing, wildlife safaris, and exploring tea gardens. Early mornings and evenings can be chilly, so pack accordingly.

Spring (March to April)

Spring in the Dooars is characterized by blooming flowers and lush greenery. The weather remains pleasant, and it's a good time for nature lovers and photographers. This season offers an opportunity to witness the region's vibrant flora.

Pre-Monsoon (May to June)

May and June mark the beginning of the pre-monsoon season when temperatures start to rise. While it's warmer during these months, it's still manageable for travelers. It's a good time for exploring tea gardens and cultural experiences. However, it can get hot during the day, so plan outdoor activities accordingly.

Monsoon (July to August):

The monsoon season brings heavy rainfall to the Dooars region, making it less suitable for outdoor activities and wildlife safaris. The weather is also hot and sultry with high humidity. However, if you enjoy the monsoon ambiance and want to experience the lush greenery, this can be an interesting time to visit.
