Manipur : Imphal, Loktake Lake, Ukhrul, Keibul Lamjao National Park (7N8D)

Introduction

Our one-week tour of Manipur offers a diverse experience, from exploring the cultural heritage of Imphal to visiting the beautiful Ukhrul hills and the serene Loktak Lake.

Best time to visit Manipur

The best time to visit Manipur, a beautiful state in northeastern India, is during the post-monsoon and winter months, which typically span from October to March. Keep in mind that Manipur has a unique culture and offers a variety of experiences throughout the year. The choice of when to visit depends on your preferences, but for the most comfortable and enjoyable trip, the post-monsoon and winter months are highly recommended. Take a look at the comparison chart below and plan accordingly.

Post-Monsoon (October to November):

This is the beginning of the tourist season in Manipur. After the monsoon season, the landscapes are lush and green, and the weather becomes pleasant. The temperatures are moderate, and the rainfall decreases significantly, making outdoor activities and sightseeing enjoyable.

Winter (December to February):

This is arguably the best time to visit Manipur. The weather is cool and dry, with daytime temperatures ranging from 7°C to 25°C (45°F to 77°F). The skies are clear, and the humidity is low, ensuring comfortable days and chilly nights. It's an excellent time for trekking, exploring the countryside, and enjoying outdoor activities without the discomfort of extreme heat or rain.

Early Spring (March):

March marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring in Manipur. The weather remains pleasant, with gradually rising temperatures. The landscape starts to bloom with colorful flowers, making it a great time for nature enthusiasts and photographers.

Late Spring to Early Summer (April to May):

While April and May are warmer months in Manipur, they can still be a decent time to visit if you prefer a slightly warmer climate. Daytime temperatures can reach up to 32°C (90°F). The landscapes remain green, and it's a suitable time for cultural festivals and exploring the local culture.

Monsoon (June to September):

Monsoon season in Manipur, like much of India, brings heavy rainfall and can make outdoor activities challenging. Landslides and roadblocks are common, and the continuous rain can limit visibility of natural attractions. It's advisable to avoid visiting Manipur during this period.
