Prashar Lake is nestled gloriously in Kullu Valley in the midst of the mighty Dhauladhar Ranges, which makes it a must-visit place for those who seek bliss in the laps of nature. The lake has its own floating island and the depth of the lake is still unknown.Parashar Lake is located at an elevation of 2730 m above sea level.Parashar Lake is nestled between the tall cedar trees. From the edge of the lake, tourists can see the glimpse of snow-capped mountains and water streams of the Sutlej River flowing towards the south.
“As per the legends, when the Mahabharata ended, the Pandavas made their way with Dev Kamrunag to find a suitable place for their deity. They landed at this place where the lake is currently located. When the deity and Dev Kamrunag saw the place, they were enchanted by its beauty and decided to stay there for the rest of their lives.”
Parashar Lake looks like a blue emerald in the midst of green pastures and gigantic mountains. The surroundings of the lake are a rare site which can enchant the mind and soul of every tourist.

There are various routes that we can choose from for the trek.The same bus going to Bhuntar will reach Panarsa which is 10 km before Bhuntar. From Panarsa, there are two options to reach the lake.
1. Cab to Jwalapur village (25 km) and then trek to Prashar lake(6 Kms).
2. Cab to Tihri village (30Kms) and then trek to Prashar Lake.
Detailed itinerary:
Day 1: Panarsa to Jwalapur Village; Blue-water Prashar lake
Report at Panarsa in a a hotel or homestay around t 9:00 AM where you can get freshened up.Then grab a delicious breakfast to ease your cravings, after that eave for Jwalapur at around 10:30 AM, which is 20 km from Panarsa .Then we will reach Jwalapur at around 11:30 AM and begin your trekking adventure. The Prashar Lake trek is 8 km long and it will take around 4 hours to reach the beautiful Prashar Lake.The route to Prashar lake is filled with lush greenery, numerous waterfalls, and small streams.Lunch will be served on the way in the midst of the trekking trail. After trekking to Prashar lake, you are free to visit the Prashar Rishi temple and enjoy the views of the Himalayan ranges. Enjoy the Himalayan silhouette during sunset.Enjoy the delicious dinner and while sitting around a bonfire under the sky full of stars if the weather permits.Overnight stay in camps near the lake and retire for the day.
Day 2: Prashar Lake to Jwalapur to Panarsa
We will start our day by capturing the view of Himalayan ranges and savour the memory forever.After having your breakfast at around 8:30 AM near the lake we will start descending down to Jwalapur at around 9:30 AM. We will reach Jwalapur by 12:30 PM and travel back to Panarsa from Jwalapur in a shared vehicle.Lunch will be served to at Panarsa. Here we will mark the end of our journey.
